RAII Funding For Projects That:
Assist businesses and organizations in transforming AI innovations from research to real-world market applications.

Financial Assistance
For Small-and Medium-Sized Enterprises: Funding will typically be provided as repayable contributions. For Not-for-Profit Organizations: Funding will generally be offered as non-repayable contributions.
Two pillars of funding are available for RAII through the FedDev program:
- AI Productization and Commercialization:
Funding to drive the growth of the AI sector in Southern Ontario, providing strategic support for businesses to bring their AI solutions and technologies to market.
FedDev Ontario may prioritize projects that can showcase at least one of the following:- Positive Market Traction
- Innovation Ecosystem Support
- AI Adoption:
Funding to help businesses implement or integrate AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency, boost productivity, and increase competitiveness.FedDev Ontario may give priority to projects focused on transformative AI adoption, accelerating strategic AI integration, process re-engineering, and/or capacity development in the following adoption applications:

The Government of Canada is making significant investments to equip businesses with the resources they need to harness artificial intelligence (AI) for developing cutting-edge technologies and processes across various sectors nationwide.
As part of this effort, Canada’s regional development agencies (RDAs) are channeling $200 million through the Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative (RAII). This funding aims to accelerate the market launch and adoption of AI-driven innovations across the country.
Through RAII, RDAs will support projects that enable businesses to transform ideas into practical solutions for Canadians, enhancing their global competitiveness.
In Southern Ontario, FedDev Ontario is now accepting applications to the RAII program under two key streams:
- AI Productization and Commercialization
- AI Adoption
